Use these records to prepare a qualification session. Final compatibility depends on the complete delivered host, runtime, application, cables, operator, and room.

Technical verification

Six records for a reproducible acceptance test

SPEC-01

Per-eye render target, 90 Hz profile, DisplayPort path, GPU output mode, and frame-time capture procedure.

SPEC-02

Host baseline

CPU, GPU, memory, USB controller, operating-system build, driver, runtime, and application version.

SPEC-03

Tracking room

Illuminance, reflective surfaces, camera occlusion, seated reach, standing boundary, and reset position.

SPEC-04

Fit and comfort

IPD fit, corrective lenses, head support, cable routing, session length, low-stim mode, and stop criteria.

SPEC-05

SPEC-06

Recovery

Known-good cable, spare host, runtime restart, firmware rollback, log export, and restoration timing.

Inside-out or outside-in tracking?

Inside-out tracking reduces installed infrastructure and can speed reconfiguration. Outside-in tracking can offer more controlled coverage in large purpose-built volumes. Neither route removes the need to test occlusion, lighting, reflective surfaces, and emergency reset behavior.

Resolution or stable refresh?

Higher render resolution may improve fine-text legibility, but it increases GPU workload. For motion-heavy training, stable frame time at the selected refresh profile can be more useful than a higher pixel target with recurrent reprojection.

Reproducible method

Run the same four-step test

  1. Freeze host, driver, runtime, firmware, and application versions.
  2. Measure room light, tracking volume, cable path, and operator position.
  3. Execute a 45-minute target workload while recording frame time, tracking loss, and thermal state.
  4. Repeat after a cold restart and after a documented recovery action.

Limits: results do not transfer automatically to another GPU, runtime, room, cable extension, or application build. Motion comfort varies by user and content; define stop criteria before testing.
